The 573 Wine, Chalk & Chocolate ART Festival,  October 3, 2009 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Artist start earlier.  Seasoned and emergent visual artists, as well as participants from local schools and other fun seekers will use chalk as their medium, and the pavement as their canvas.  No experience needed.

The First Annual 573 Chalk Art Festival  -presented by the Insider573 Magazine

music • chalk drawing • wine tasting • chocolate •  art demonstrations • street performers • face painting • prizes • wineries, restaurants and shopping shuttle service • hands-on activities galore!

Imagine a street alive with chalk art paintings, surrounded by artisans demonstrating their talents --- to the delight of hundreds onlookers from the local area and St. Louis.
We are seeking artist and sponsors to make Wine, Chalk & Chocolate a unique and memorable experience. The central focus of Wine, Chalk & Chocolate will be the evolving, mesmerizing chalk art.


The event is for artists of all ages.

Available square dimensions:

7' X 7'  square   -professional/serious armature artist only  (Featured Artists)   "Free" and includes lunch.  If you wish to be considered for a large square, please email your request to 573573@earthlink.net.  Please include a link to samples of your work along with your contact phone number.

4’ x 4’ square    -Adult square $15  (includes 1 box of chalk and lunch)

6' x 6' square    -Adult square $20  (includes 1 box of chalk and lunch)

Kids 2’ x 2’ square  "KIDS DRAW FREE"  if you bring your own chalk.   (chalk and lunch can be provided for $5)

RULES
There can only be one lead artist, but any number of supporting artists per space.
     There is no required art theme.
     Art must be family-friendly.
     No nude or lewd artwork.
     No stenciling.
     Only solid, non-toxic chalk pastels can be used.
     Organizers have the right to disqualify and/or remove any
     inappropriate art or writing as they may deem necessary.
     Judging based on first impression, creativity, originality, skill, and
     use of color.
     Decisions of the judges and organizers are final.
     Digital photos will be taken and used for publicity purposes.
     No political or commercial advertising statements.
     There are no age categories.
     Not responsible for damage or theft of art work.
     Participants are required to sign a liability waiver prior to
     beginning to draw.
     Organizers and judges have the right to modify or add to these rules,
     as necessary.
